Japan will welcome a host of new hotel and resort openings in 2022, from Hokkaido to Kagawa and many more prefectures and cities throughout the country.

Hoshino Resorts KAI Poroto - Hokkaido

Inspired by the art and architecture of the indigenous Ainu people, all 42 rooms of KAI Poroto will have views of Lake Poroto and be surrounded by the forests of Hokkaido. Opening January 14, 2022

Nordisk Hygge Circles UGAKEI - Mie Prefecture

The luxury campground was designed by the Danish architecture team Third Nature in a joint bid with Japanese engineers, which won a regenerative tourism competition. Opening Spring 2022

Roka - Kagawa Prefecture

The Setouchi Triennale, Roka is a full-scale ryokan with private open-air baths in all 11 of its suites. Opening April 2022
