BOOM. Retired living for the LGBT

What started as an ambitious project for the LGBT, looking to find a more conventional retirement opportunity has now grown into something much more real. With more than 100 acres outside of Palm Springs, in the Mojave Desert, will soon be the site of a $250 million idea. Such an idea that has brought 10 architectural firms from five different countries together to create.

Boom will be solely based around the sunshine the desert is known for. Complete outdoor living with pedestrian pathways and communal spaces. Plenty of eateries, wellness centers and shops. The living spaces will include private homes, assisted living and a nursing home. What’s most exciting is how each development will turn out. The architects are given free reign to do whatever their heart desires. So you can expect unique designs differing each building.

If you want to see a little more of what’s planned for Boom, be sure to visit their Website and request an invite. The first phase is estimated to have 300 homes, but surely could double when the word gets out about this cool retiree spot.
