YouTube bumps up privacy for all

Have an embarrassing video on YouTube that you don’t want to ever get out? Maybe a video that you need to hide or just keep private?

Now you can with YouTube’s new settings. Using the ‘Unlisted’ feature you’re able to hide the YouTube video of your choice so that it can only be accessed via a secret URL. The best part is it can be shared to any number of people not just YouTube members. Previously you could share a video privately to only 25.

So how does this benefit the user? Think about a class assignment you must present or something you are selling. Now you can post the video up with no concerns of others seeing it. This resembles the MobileMe galleries that Apple provides. Unfortunately for MobileMe it comes with a price tag.

So go publish a video! Check it out.
