Ahh… there is nothing better than a good glass of Malbec wine. If you’re looking for a new bottle to try out, I would highly recommend the 2012 Alamos Malbec. Blended with small portions of Syrah and Bonarda to fuse blackberry and dark cherry flavors. You may also notice a hint of vanilla and brown spice.
The grapes for the 2012 Alamos Malbec were handpicked, destemmed and then crushed. Before the fermentation process began, the must was cold soaked for a whole 3 days. Fermentation was done using upright conical tanks for one week at 85F. To extract the rich color and flavor, several pump-overs were used during the process. After its primary fermentation, the Malbec sustained malolactic fermentation to create a round mouthfeel before eight months of aging in a combination of American and French 225 L barrels that were set to a medium toast level.
