I was recently invited to come and join the Fiat team for the unveiling of their new 2016 Fiat 500X. In Beverly Hills we were treated to rooms at the appropriately Italian themed Hotel, Mr C. Along with some wining and dining, the press managed to take quite a drive through the hills of Malibu.
Whether you consider yourself a Fiat kind of person or not, you certainly can’t help but notice that there are a lot of them on the road. I actually only became fully aware of just how many there were when I was driving one (as one tends to do when looking for allies on the mean streets of Los Angeles). You also quickly realize, that hardly any two are alike.
The Fiat 500X is available in 12 different exterior colors. That doesn’t include all the trim and rim options, so if personalizing your vehicle is something you’re interested in, they’ve got you covered.
While winding through canyon roads, we got to experience the available 180 Horsepower, and also the nimble suspension the car provides. As an added bonus, you get to see how many G-forces you can create on the information display in the front dash. This may or may serve as a competition between you and your co pilot, just saying.
It’s pretty hard to not enjoy yourself when it’s 68, no clouds, you can see the ocean, and your dual sun roof is greeting them all. The Fiat 500X has an available award winning Uconnect System that provides easy access to satellite radio, navigation and can pair with your phone. So when we got lost, which we most certainly did, finding our way back wasn’t much of an issue.
