Sometimes technology can be overkill, sometimes it can enhance your overall experience. In the case of Sears’ integrated retail services like In-Vehicle and In-Store Pick-ups, it’s most definitely the latter.
Whether you’re gearing up for back to school shopping for your kids or just need to pick-up a few things for the house, Sears is making it even easier to get what you want, and to get it fast. Recently I put both their In-Store and In-Vehicle Pick-Up services to the test.
Sears In-Store Pick-Up
For Father’s Day I ordered a weed wacker on Sears.com for my brother, who is both a new dad and homeowner. As I’m sure you can imagine ordering online was simple. The entire transaction took only minutes. What stood out to me was the option I had of picking up my purchase at a Sears near my brother’s house.
Upon arrival I simply walked in, followed the signs to In-Store Pick-Up, walked up to the kiosk, and bam — out came my product. I barely had time to play a round of Candy Crush, they were just too fast. What was most noticeable was how the entire system was automated. For a moment I imagined a robot coming out from the back to deliver my package. It was actually a nice guy named George, who you can tell takes pride in his speedy delivery. Thanks, George!
Sears In-Vehicle Pick-Up
If you thought the In-Store Pick-Up was cool, wait until you read this. I’ve been eyeing a new TV for my living room for quite sometime now, and Sears just so happened to have the model I was looking for. When I decided to pull the trigger and buy it, I ordered from Sears.com (once again), and set it for pick-up at my local Sears in Los Angeles. I’m going to let the video Sears created about their In-Vehicle Pick-Up explain the process, but I just wanted to share that it took less than 4-minutes to arrive to my vehicle. That’s one minute faster than their quoted 5-minute delivery time.
