If you’re a collector of experiences, then an underwater restaurant has to be at the top of your list. Collaborative architectural and landscape workshop, Snøhetta, has unveiled plans for their new project Under–Europe’s first underwater restaurant. Its namesake has a double meaning: In Norwegian, “under” can also be translated to mean “wonder,” which surely this place makes you do.
Located at the southernmost point of the Norwegian coastline by the village of Båly, Under will double as a research center for marine life while also educating guests about the biodiversity of the sea–100 patrons at a time. Its unique design sits directly on the seabed five meters below the water’s surface, made from meter-thick concrete walls and able to withstand the Norwegian rocky coastline.
