Elon Musk’s first mid-sized crossover has been unveiled and I cannot wait to give it a test drive. Built on the Model 3 platform, only designed to be bigger, the Tesla Model Y seats up to seven passengers. Similar to the Model 3, you will find the Model Y has an interior that heavily borrows from its predecessor, including the panoramic glass roof, 15-inch touchscreen control display, and more. In addition to features like Autopilot and all the other awesome tech Tesla models are known to come equipped with, the Model Y has an impressive battery. Options include battery ranges varying from 230 to a class-leading 300 miles depending on the model with 0-60 acceleration falling from 5.9 to 3.5 seconds. The Long Range RWD, Long Range AWD, and Performance models will launch in the fall of 2020, while the more affordable Standard Range model will follow in 2021.
