Kansas City has welcomed a new player in the hotel scene — the Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City. Known for its laid-back tropical vibes, Margaritaville has brought its signature style to the heart of the Midwest. I recently stayed at the hotel and filmed a full room tour of one of their standard rooms with two queen beds. If you’re curious about what to expect, here’s a closer look.

Room Overview

The standard room with two queen beds offers a balance of comfort and style, blending Margaritaville’s island-inspired décor with practical amenities for both leisure and business travelers. You can opt for a king size bed if you prefer.

Bedroom & Sleeping Area

Walk into a 329-square-foot oasis that quietly delivers laid-back luxury. Two queen beds with premium linens and deluxe mattresses stand ready for up to four adults. The room instantly puts you in island mode with its sea-and-sky color palette and tropical décor. You’ll find a 65″ HD smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, USB charging ports, a personal safe, and an alarm clock radio. Practical touches include a Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge, individually controlled A/C, and a steam iron.

Workspace & Seating

For those mixing business with pleasure, the room includes a work desk and chair, along with an additional seating area. Lighting is warm and inviting, making it easy to transition from work mode to vacation mode.

Bathroom

No guessing here—it’s a walk-in shower, stocked with custom Margaritaville bath products, two plush bathrobes, a hairdryer, and a makeup mirror. Clean, functional, and finished with just the right touch of resort luxury.

Storage & Amenities

You’ll find ample storage space in the closet area, along with an iron, ironing board, and safe. Other in-room amenities include a coffee maker, mini-fridge, and flat-screen TV.

Room with a View

The hotel is designed to wrap around the pool area, so from your balcony you get a front-row seat to all the action. It’s the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee or wind down with a nightcap. On our last evening, my friend Barry and I watched kids dart toward the fire pits for the hotel’s s’mores activity—a sweet, lively scene to end the night.

Overall Impression

If you’re looking for a hotel in Kansas City that offers both a comfortable stay and a dose of island escape, the Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City delivers. While the property carries the fun and flair of the Margaritaville brand, it’s also well-suited for anyone visiting the city for events, business, or leisure.
