Mercedes-Maybach’s flagship SUV is getting sharper for 2027, and the headline change is under the hood: a reworked electrified V8 biturbo now makes 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, with the 48-volt mild hybrid system adding another 23 hp when it counts. AIRMATIC air suspension and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL still handle the ride-smoothing work, reading the road ahead and adjusting before you feel the bump. The design updates lean into Maybach’s usual excess: illuminated running boards that project the Maybach pattern onto the pavement, twin-star DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps finished in rose gold, and an illuminated Mercedes-Benz Star on the hood for the first time. Inside, Mercedes-Benz‘s new MB.OS platform runs the show through the MBUX Superscreen, with an optional rear entertainment package pairing two 11.6-inch displays for video conferencing on the go. Two new two-tone paint options, Dark Petrol and Verde Silver Metallic, round out the changes. Mercedes-Benz says the GLS 680 lands in dealerships later this year.
