Well, you want to plan a trip that you’re actually going to love, but if you’re planning on enjoying some nightlife, well, that’s actually going to heavily impact the trip more than you might think. So, nightlife on a trip is supposed to be fun. Like, actually fun. Not “fun” in the moment, and then the next day is basically written off because everyone’s moving slowly, complaining about their stomach, and staring at their phones in bed.
That’s not fun, well, that’s pretty miserable if you think about it. A fun trip should be fun most of the time, but if the next day you and everyone else feel like garbage, well, guess what, that’s a day wasted, and who knows, it could spill onto the next day too. Well, most people want a good night out and then still want to enjoy the next day without feeling like they made a terrible life choice.
But what’s the best way to go about this?
The Start Time Shouldn’t be that Late
Well, it does honestly depend on what country you’re in because in countries like Spain, nightlife doesn’t start until like 1 a.m. or midnight, but taking that country out of account, with most others it’s going to be a good idea to start earlier. So, a good flow is something like one drink somewhere chill, then dinner, then the main “going out” part. It spreads things out. It also means nobody’s pounding drinks on an empty stomach because they’re trying to catch up to the night.
Ideally, Choose One Main Spot
Bluntly put, trying to hit five places in one night sounds fun in theory. In real life, it’s a lot of walking, waiting, paying for rides, and standing outside places deciding if the line is worth it. Then the night becomes logistics, and well, no right person in their head will enjoy that.
One main venue is the move. Like you might want to look into a strip club near me open now, or a lounge, a nightclub, even a restaurant, just something that fits the group. And then at most only add one backup, yes, only one backup in case the main thing seems to be overpriced, dead, boring, sketchy, or just not a part of the mood. This keeps the night feeling intentional without being rigid.
Yes, You Need to Start with Dinner
Why? Well, skipping dinner is basically inviting the worst version of decision-making to show up later. It might be weird to think here, but food keeps the night stable. It also slows drinking down naturally, because nobody’s trying to replace calories with cocktails. Well, that, and once you’re starving, you’re willing to lower standards, which could lead to food poisoning.
What Does “Late” Mean for this Night?
No, really, this question is actually straightforward enough here to question. It’s going to be the thing that helps you decide if you’re willing to stay in bed the next day or if you’re deadset on actually roaming around during your trip. Some people want to be out until sunrise, some people want to be in bed by 1, and most people are somewhere in between.
But a curfew might be enough to help set yourself so you know when to get back to the hotel and into bed (but make sure you’re sober before bed to avoid a hangover, though).
