Following closely after their 2017 C-Class Coupe Video Brochure, Mercedes-Benz has announced they are making golf star, Rickie Fowler their global brand ambassador. He will be sporting the Mercedes star logo for the first time during the U.S. Open Championship this week, and also driving a Mercedes-AMG G 65. Not too shabby.
“I am pleased to expand my relationship with the brand on a global scale,” said Rickie Fowler. “Mercedes-Benz products continue to set the benchmark in the automotive industry, and this clearly parallels my ambition to lead on the golf course. I will proudly wear the iconic Mercedes-Benz star on my clothing and I’m excited to continue to have the latest models in my driveway.”
Just 27-years of age, Rickie Fowler joins Martin Kaymer and German golf legend Bernhard Langer as global brand ambassadors. The expanded partnership comes at no surprise, as Mercedes-Benz has been active in professional golf since the 1980’s. In fact, from 2008 to 2013, Mercedes-Benz was the ‘International Partner’ of one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world, the Masters in Augusta, and later one of the three ‘Global Sponsors’ of the Masters.
The deal between Mercedes-Benz and Rickie Fowler was produced by Wasserman and Fowler’s agent, Sam MacNaughton.
