Porsche Classic was looking to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary, and so they did it in gold. “Project Gold” is a one-of-a-kind Porsche built off a brand new 993 bodyshell. It’s the last 911 Turbo with an air-cooled engine, featuring the striking Golden Yellow metallic paint previously seen in the 2018 911 Turbo Exclusive Series. Its all-wheel drive and manual transmission were taken from Porsche Classic, as well as a new 450 hp 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine. It may have taken over a year and a half to build this beauty, but it was worth the wait. The Porsche “Project Gold” was sold last week at auction for $3.1 million, with all proceeds going towards the Ferry Porsche Foundation.
