The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games have announced a collaboration to create a new games and entertainment universe linked to Fortnite. Disney will invest $1.5 billion in Epic Games as part of this multiyear project, pending regulatory approvals. This universe will include content and characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more, allowing fans to create and share their own experiences. The initiative represents Disney’s largest foray into gaming and leverages Epic’s Unreal Engine technology to foster an open, interoperable ecosystem.
