Mattel is blurring the lines between die-cast collecting and large-scale building with their latest drop at the New York Toy Fair. Joining the high-end Hot Wheels Elite Series, the Mattel Brick Shop Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is a 793-piece tribute to one of GT racing’s most aggressive silhouettes.
The 1:16 scale kit isn’t just plastic; it utilizes Mattel Brick Shop’s real metal parts to mirror the original race car’s “wide track” stance and aerodynamic DNA. Details are surprisingly deep for a brick build, featuring opening doors, a detailed engine bay, and race-spec aero like splitters and a massive rear spoiler. Collectors can keep it clean or go full “race-day” with interchangeable decals and partner-licensed wheels. As a kicker, each set includes an exclusive 1:64 scale Hot Wheels die-cast of the Vantage to match its bigger brother.
Pre-orders are open now at Walmart, with a wider release at Amazon, Target, and Mattel Creations coming this summer.
