Guys, grilling season is finally back, and I could not be more ready for it. Now, you might be thinking, “Joe, you live in LA. Isn’t it technically always grilling season?” While you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong, it’s not the weather that I look forward to every year, it’s who I get to see and how we spend our time together. You see, here in Los Angeles, there aren’t many people who have the kind of outdoor space that would allow for a backyard BBQ situation. Best (/worst?) case scenario, you’re making an attempt on your balcony and have to find a new place to live the next day because that’s a straight-up fire hazard. (Seriously, don’t do this.) What this time of year means for me is going home, both to where I’m from and where my wife is from. And let me tell you, whichever place we’re going to, you can bet we’ll be with some amazing people, enjoying some amazing BBQ.
A favorite malt beverage company of mine, Great America, has recently introduced their seasonal Tea with Lemon flavor, and (you guessed it) right at the perfect time. This might just be the perfect drink for the visits I have coming up; there’s no better way to grill up some of my favorite BBQ treats than with an adult version of Arnold Palmer. It just so happens to be my all-time favorite drink!
For those that don’t know, Great America is brewed and bottled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and is the first flavored malt beverage specialty moonshine. Their drinks are a throwback to the past when times were different, adding a modern upgrade giving it its own unique flavor. Needless to say, this ain’t your grandma’s hooch.
As much as I love enjoying Great America at barbecues, they have a ton of flavors that go well with other activities like adventuring in the outdoors. Their mason bottles look and feel good in your hand, while adding a rustic vibe that makes enjoying them outside all the better. (Camping anyone?)
For a refreshing twist, I like to add a bit more lemon and a few leaves of mint.
Before we wrap things up, I feel that I need to clarify something so you don’t worry for me. I will absolutely be finding time to enjoy Great America’s Tea with Lemon/all of the other flavors at home too. We do have a pool… and friends…so. Now that summer’s nearly here, chances are we won’t be going inside anytime soon. Cheers!
I recommend following Great America on social media so you know when they release new seasonal flavors. Find them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
