Bud Light Area 51 Special Edition labels might become a reality soon!
Have you seen Area 51 come across your feed recently and have no idea what the heck is going on? Perhaps you suspect an alien has gotten loose and now the world is going crazy. Nope, that’s not it at all. A Facebook Event was created titled, ‘Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop Us All,’ and it’s gone just a little bit viral.
Now, every social brand manager is scrambling to find a way to capitalize on this viral Area 51 trend before it loses its steam. Our friends at Bud Light were one of them, however, first began skeptical about this Area 51 raid and tweeted this denouncing any type of sponsorship:
We’d like to be the first brand to formally announce that we will not be sponsoring the Area 51 raid.

Don’t worry, they came to their senses. Two days later and now they’re offering free beer to any aliens that make it out of Area 51.
Screw it. Free Bud Light to any alien that makes it out. https://t.co/AOWOYL3Oyp

Going even further with this Area 51 craze, Bud Light’s team designed a mock-up Area 51 Special Edition label.

But are these labels for real? Not quite a reality just yet, however, if the tweet above gets 51,000 retweets then Bud Light will put the Area 51 Special Edition labels into production. SCORE!
51,000 RTs and it will be.

These types of social media stunts are why I love brands like Bud Light who get it. It’s practically free marketing for them, as well as a great way to create a test case and see what people want. Let’s help them get to 51,000 retweets so we can see these labels come to fruition.
