For this year’s National Tattoo Day, Bulleit Bourbon teamed up with four trailblazing artists and shaking up tattoo culture with a new project.
The latest Frontier Works collaboration is the Bulleit Bourbon Tattoo Edition series, featuring four unique tattoo designs on Bulleit’s signature bottles from some of the country’s top tattoo artists. This is the first time Bulleit Bourbon bottles have been altered, turning the frontier-inspired bottles into collectible pieces of art. Each bottle’s hangtag features a QR code to access an interactive Augmented Reality experience, which brings each artist’s design to life through your smartphone.
“I’ve always thought the Bulleit bottle was badass because of its unique shape and iconic design. Putting my own unique spin on it was a fun challenge because I didn’t want to mess with the style too much, but did want to share what LA means to me through my art. Bulleit gave me a lot of creative liberty and I’m proud of how it turned out.”
– Shawn Barber of Memoir Tattoo in LA.
Barber first teamed up with Bulleit back in 2017 when he helped bring together 24 tattoo artists from Southern California to create the world’s first tattoo billboard. Bulleit and the artists created a 35-ft. leather tattoo billboard, which was later displayed in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood and now travels to travels across the country.
I personally wouldn’t crack open the limited Tattoo Edition bottle myself, since after all it is a collectible, but if one was to get a bit thirsty, the same high-rye Bulleit Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey you know and love can be found inside. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, or paired alongside your favorite beer. The Bulleit Bourbon Tattoo Edition carries a suggested retail price of $24.99 and can be found at your local retailer for a limited time.
