Caviar Dreams is a coffee table book about caviar written by someone who sells it. Petra Higby is CEO and co-founder of The Caviar Co., the San Francisco outfit publishing it, which cuts both ways: you get sourcing and production detail from inside the business, and you get it from a brand with a tin to move.

The book covers caviar’s history and cultural legacy alongside original photography and illustration, plus recipes and insights from chefs. Interior spreads run to species identification and how the pearls get harvested, so there’s reference material sitting next to the styled lifestyle shots. Two editions. The hardcover alone is $105, or $225 for a Collector’s Set adding a keepsake box, a mother of pearl serving spoon and palette, and the brand’s Tinkey caviar key. That $120 upcharge is worth doing math on, since The Caviar Co. sells its gold tin key for $10 and mother of pearl spoons from $20 on the same site. Non-perishable orders ship Ground for $15. Pre-orders are open, with copies expected to ship in December.
