This summer, Guinness is ditching its cozy pub vibes and heading straight into the sunshine. In a bold move that reimagines what a stout can be, the iconic Irish brand has teamed up with artisanal ice cream makers Van Leeuwen to deliver a collaboration as unexpected as it is delicious.

Introducing the limited-edition “Lovely Day for a Guinness” ice cream: a decadent blend of Van Leeuwen’s ultra-creamy French-style base swirled with the unmistakably smooth and bold flavor of Guinness, topped off with rich chocolate chunks. It’s the perfect marriage of heritage and innovation, offering a new way to enjoy Guinness under the summer sun.

The flavor takes its name from Guinness’ beloved 1950s ad campaign, “Lovely Day for a Guinness,” and it pays visual homage with a custom-designed pint carton that echoes the brand’s special-edition summer Guinness Draught Stout 4-pack. Both feature reimagined versions of the iconic Guinness toucan, now with a contemporary American twist.

“We’re always looking for ways to bring the bold flavor of Guinness to life in new formats,” said Karissa Downer, Director at Guinness. “This collaboration captures the simple summer joys like sharing a scoop of ice cream and a pint of Guinness with friends.”

Priced at $11.15 in-store and $12 online, the “Lovely Day for a Guinness” pint is now available at Van Leeuwen scoop shops nationwide and via their website. The launch adds another chapter to Van Leeuwen’s portfolio of inventive flavors, which includes quirky hits like Hidden Valley Ranch and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

To make summer even sweeter, Guinness and Van Leeuwen are hosting sampling events across the country. Fans can score free scoops and tiny pours of Guinness Draught at select locations, including Chicago, Brooklyn, Nashville, Dallas, and more. Plus, keep an eye out for the retro-styled Pintmobile vans cruising through cities like Miami and San Diego, serving up treats and photo ops.

If you’re in Hermosa Beach on August 9, don’t miss the Guinness Surf Shop Pop-Up at SPYDER Surf Shop. From 1-7 pm, attendees 21+ can indulge in ice cream, mini pints, tiny tacos, and snag exclusive Guinness merch. Bonus: Guinness is donating $20,000 to the Surfrider Foundation as a thank you to the local community.

Whether you’re sipping or scooping, Guinness wants you to make the most of your “lovely days” this summer. And for those skipping alcohol, Guinness 0 offers the same iconic taste without the ABV.
