Hornitos Black Barrel is unlike any other tequila the brand has in its collection. To create a complex tequila with whiskey attributes, Hornitos triple aged it.
They started with their 100% Hornitos Tequila and aged it inside of traditional American Oak barrels for 12 months. The result: Añejo tequila with a soft and smooth flavor. After the one year, they move the liquid into deeply charred American Oak barrels for four months, allowing the tequila to develop a rich character through the caramelized layers of sugar. Lastly, the tequila is aged in — you guessed it — American Oak barrels, but this time, specially-toasted barrels. After two months you’re left with the final product, Hornitos Black Barrel.
The suggested retail price for this Hornitos is $30 USD. Find where to pick up a bottle over on their product page.
