If there wasn’t a reason to travel before, there is now. Jim Beam Bourbon has announced the launch of Lineage, a batched premium whiskey sold exclusively in travel retail shops. This unique whiskey marks the first collaboration between Jim Beam’s 7th and 8th generation family distillers.
Jim Beam Lineage was crafted by seventh-generation Jim Beam Family Master Distiller, Fred Noe, and his son, Freddie Noe. Global travelers will be able to pick up a bottle in early 2021 for $250 (USD).
The aging of Lineage was done in charred white oak barrels that have sat in Warehouse K since 2004. The result of this 15-year-old bourbon is a proof of 110, with notes of vanilla, caramel, and spice. In each box comes a bespoke bottle featuring the iconic Jim Beam seal and Freddie’s name, a first for the Jim Beam portfolio.
“Lineage represents a significant moment in the history of Jim Beam. Not only is it a collaboration between the seventh and eighth generation of distillers in our family, but it’s a blend of the past, the present and the future. Having spent a lot of time exploring travel retail outlets in my time, it was important to me to offer something special to travellers – especially during these trying times. Launching a product exclusively to travel retail is not something we often do, so we are excited to bring such a unique expression to our friends in airports across the world.”
