HEX, my favorite DSLR bag manufacturer, has just dropped their new sling and I just have to cop one.
The Ranger Sling XL follows in the footsteps of HEX’s popular Ranger Sling family, but with some notable upgrades. Larger than a traditional sling, yet smaller than a backpack. Best of all, the Sling XL has a padded laptop compartment that will hold a 13″ Macbook or a laptop of a similar size. Shame I just picked up the new 14″ MacBook Pro.
Usually, when I think of a sling bag, I think of somewhat minimal compartments and a lack of space for all my gear. This isn’t the case with the new Ranger Sling XL. You can hold pretty much all the equipment you would in a regular, standard-sized DSLR backpack without any problems. There is a generous organizer on the outside, along with HEX’s signature faux-fur-lined phone pocket. Inside are EVA padded dividers which can be configured to fit each shooter’s needs. I like to bring my 24-70mm lens already attached to my Canon 5D Mark IV, with my telephoto 70-200mm; both of which fit perfectly in the sling.
All of these features are wrapped up in water-resistant, ballistic nylon complete with a hideaway rainfly for even more weather protection. You can grab the new HEX Ranger Sling XL in 4 finishes: Black, Camo, Glacier Camo, and Blackout Camo.
