This is especially unfortunate when you consider, not just how much time we spend in them, but that we start our days there. Personally, when I venture into a bathroom to get ready in the morning, I’m always more than a little groggy. That said, it could be argued that this is where a person really wakes up and sets the tone for the rest of the day, not necessarily the bedroom. Traveling as much as I do, I end up in lots of different kinds of hotels. It could be in my head, but the day always seems just a little bit brighter when it’s started in a more put-together bathroom. And even if it is in my head, isn’t that kind of what matters?

Switch to a classic razor+brush set for shaving
Use quality grooming products (aesthetic bonus points if they’re the same brand)
Make sure your shower curtain and rugs at least compliment one another (matching is not necessary)
Only keep necessary items out, put everything else away after use
Splurge on quality towels (make sure they, too, compliment your shower curtain and rugs)
Use a matching set to house necessities (4 matching cups from your favorite bar in college do not count)
Wipe things down after each use (it makes the bathroom part of cleaning day a breeze)
Harmonize metal shapes, textures, and finishes (they don’t have to match, but they shouldn’t clash)
Wall art (so you have something to look at if you ever forget your phone)
Add a plant (put the shower steam to good use)
