Allen Edmonds has a new cap toe oxford, and it is built for guys who actually walk in their dress shoes. The Rhett pairs a European calfskin upper with a 360-degree Goodyear welt, XL Extralight injection-molded outsoles, and PORON Embrace foam insoles, so it looks like a proper oxford and feels closer to a sneaker than a board.
The shoe is built on Allen Edmonds’ 2014 last, a modified version of the classic 65 last with a refined toe, a better heel fit, and more arch support. It is handcrafted in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and lined in leather.

The Rhett comes in black and chili calfskin plus a bitter chocolate suede, and it runs $475. Dappered’s hands-on review called it highly recommended, which tracks: this is the dress shoe for the guy who wants one pair that handles the office, a wedding, and everything in between.
The Allen Edmonds Rhett is available now from Allen Edmonds.
