It’s no surprise that Sean and Shannon Scott have philanthropic bones in their bodies. Sean played an integral role at TOMS for years, and Shannon frequently joined the TOMS team for shoe drops in countries such as Argentina and Honduras. It’s safe to say they know a thing or two about giving back. They’re taking the philanthropy model even further with their new company COMUNITYmade by employing their neighborhood and, thus, empowering their community.
The LA-based company boasts a collection of premium shoes for both men and women, all of which are handmade by local artisans using sustainable, locally sourced materials. Its factory is located just blocks away from the Downtown LA showroom where locals are employed and taught skills. Below you will find their current men’s footwear collection.
For every COMUNITYmade shoe sold, the brand donates $10 to a local community chosen by the consumer at checkout (that’s right, they’re not just empowering THEIR community). The communities funded are focused on helping the local arts, education, and homeless. Taking their community efforts even further, the brand offers its showroom as an event space.
