Helinox has spent years making the chairs and tables that show up at every campsite worth sitting in. Now the brand is building something bigger: a flagship store in Seoul that is, fittingly, shaped by the same thinking as a tent. Helinox opened its Helinox Wear flagship on September 11, 2026, overlooking Dosan Park in Gangnam, one of Seoul’s most design-forward neighborhoods, and it is less a shop than a statement about where the brand is headed.
The building is the story
The exterior is an ETFE air cushion facade inspired by a tent fly sheet, held in shape by air and tension alone. By day it transmits light into the interior; at night it projects the activity inside outward. As light, shadow, weather, and time change, the facade shifts, so the same building wears a different face through the day. A solid concrete terrace grounds the floating facade and serves as the transition from the city into the store. It is a clever piece of brand storytelling: a company famous for tensioned fabric structures wrapped its flagship in one.

Wear earns its Red Dots
The store exists because Helinox Wear exists. Introduced in late 2025, Wear is the brand’s first apparel collection, spanning outerwear, tops, bottoms, and accessories. It gained immediate international validation at the 2026 Red Dot Design Awards, taking five honors across the brand, including the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best award in the apparel category for the Eclipse Pack Down Jacket. That is the throughline of the whole project: Helinox is evolving beyond its outdoor roots through collaborations spanning fashion, lifestyle, culture, automotive, music, and the arts, and apparel is the next step.
Six floors, one journey
Inside, the flagship runs from basement to rooftop across six floors, forming a single continuous sequence the brand describes as Urban, Terrain, Icon, Showcase, Commons, Heritage, and Stage. Visitors move through a complete cycle, starting from the city, passing through nature, icons, community, and heritage, and returning to the cityscape. The store functions as a platform where the brand’s technology, design, community, and culture sit in one building, which is exactly what a flagship should do: give people a reason to come for more than a purchase.

For readers who know Helinox from the trail, the Seoul flagship is worth watching because it signals where the brand thinks its future lives. Not just in the gear you pack, but in the clothes you wear to dinner after you get back. More details live at Helinox Wear’s site, and the Eclipse Pack Down Jacket is the piece I would start with.
