Nike Air Max Foamdome in Electro Purple and Black, lateral side profile with molded Foamposite shell and visible Air units

Nike’s Air Max Foamdome “Eggplant” Is Back After a Decade, and It’s Already Nearly Gone

Nike's Air Max Foamdome "Eggplant" is back after a decade: Electro Purple shell, Goadome boot build, $265, nearly sold out at Nike.

Nike just brought back one of its strangest and best hybrids, and it is already nearly gone. The Air Max Foamdome in Electro Purple, the colorway everyone calls Eggplant, mashes up the Foamposite’s rippling molded shell with the rugged Air Max Goadome boot. Nike first tried the pairing in 2008 and last released this purple back in 2016. This is the first return in a decade, and it shows. The glossy purple shell sits over black leather. The chunky lugged sole has visible Air units, and the high-top cut suits cold weather rather than the court.

I have not laced a pair up yet, so no wear test from me. For the sneakerhead who missed the 2016 drop, this is the one to chase. It is a winter boot with real ’90s hoops attitude. It is $265, and Nike’s site is nearly out of stock after the November 5 drop. Foot Locker still has sizes from 7.5 to 12, so move fast if your size is still there.
