Red Wing designed the IronFlex using data pulled from three million foot scans through its Ultimate Fit Experience program, which is a wild starting point for a work boot and explains why this one fits differently than most. The 6-inch upper uses full-grain waterproof leather paired with a non-metallic safety toe, and a BOA Fit System dial replaces traditional laces for on-the-fly micro-adjustment. Construction is the interesting part: a welted heel for stability on uneven ground, cemented forefoot for flex where you need it. Red Wing’s three-layer waterproofing, HRO soles rated to 475°F, electrical hazard protection, and ASTM slip resistance cover the rest of the spec sheet, aimed at electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and anyone spending shifts kneeling, climbing, or hauling. Available now in sizes 6 through 15, regular through wide-H, for $274.99.
