Apple quietly brought back the World Travel Adapter Kit on October 28, rebuilt for its newest chargers, and it’s a smarter set than the one it replaces. The $39 kit holds five plugs: Type A for North America and Japan, Type C for Europe and Brazil, Type D for India, which is new, Type G for the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and Type I for Australia and New Zealand.
The catch is the connector. Every plug uses Apple’s new pill-shaped AC Connector 2, which does not work with the notched AC Connector 1 plugs and cables on older adapters like the 35W Dual Port and 96W. The kit is plugs only, no power adapter, and the matching AC Connector 2 extension cable is $19 for 1.8 meters. One trade to know: the old kit’s seven plugs covered China, Korea, and Hong Kong, and this one doesn’t.
