I have been waiting for Photoshop to drop on the iPad since Adobe announced it nearly a year ago. I’ve used the photo-editing software on my PC and Mac for well over a decade now and couldn’t wait for it to become available on my favorite mobile device finally. Perhaps the wait was due to Apple dragging their feet on opening up the iOS to be more of a personal computer than just a tablet. Whatever the case may be, the news of Photoshop finally becoming available on the iPad is an excellent way to kick-off this week.
Photoshop for the iPad is free to download and use for 30 days, after that it will cost $9.99 per month via in-app purchase or come included as part of an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. The app, as you might have already imagined, has been redesigned for the iPad. It still features much of what you would expect from the desktop version of Photoshop editors know and love. I am excited to be able to composite, mask, retouch, and more while on the go. Adobe has already committed to adding new features each time they put out a new release, so you can expect great things are coming soon. One of the significant bonuses right off the jump is the full support for the Apple Pencil and being able to access files through Adobe’s Creative Cloud quickly. Go straight from your desktop to the iPad in no time and get working!
