Holland America Line has just unveiled its highly anticipated 2026 Europe season, offering travelers a chance to embark on unforgettable journeys across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Canary Islands, and transatlantic routes. With four ships and itineraries ranging from seven to 42 days, guests can look forward to an array of new ports, extensive options, and unparalleled experiences. Here’s an in-depth look at what to expect from Holland America Line’s 2026 European adventures.
Discover the Mediterranean with Oosterdam
For those dreaming of sun-soaked Mediterranean shores, the Oosterdam is your vessel. This ship will host a variety of itineraries, catering to both short and extended vacations. Choose from seven- to 14-day trips departing from five vibrant homeports: Lisbon, Portugal; Piraeus (Athens), Greece; Barcelona, Spain; and Civitavecchia (Rome) and Trieste (Venice), Italy. Each itinerary is designed to showcase the rich culture and history of the region.
For a deeper dive into the Mediterranean, consider the Collectors’ Voyages. These journeys range from 14 to 27 days, with some spanning up to 21 days without repeating ports. “There’s so much to see throughout the Mediterranean region, and by creating itineraries from multiple homeports we’re giving our guests the opportunity to explore more ports and countries in an exciting way we haven’t offered before,” said Paul Grigsby, Holland America Line’s vice president of revenue planning and deployment. Highlights include the return to St. Tropez, France, and the inclusion of sought-after destinations like Sicily and Portofino in Italy.
Northern Europe: A Voyage of Majestic Landscapes
For those captivated by the dramatic landscapes and historic cities of Northern Europe, the Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam are your gateways. Both Pinnacle-Class ships will homeport in Rotterdam, Netherlands, offering an ideal starting point to explore Europe. Additionally, Nieuw Statendam will sail from Dover, England, providing alternative itineraries for roundtrip U.K. voyages.
The Northern Europe routes feature an increased number of seven-day cruises to Norway’s fjords and seven-day open-jaw sailings between Reykjavik, Iceland, and Rotterdam. For a more immersive experience, the 14-Day Baltic and Scandinavian Capitals cruises are not to be missed. These voyages often include overnight stays or late-night calls in cities like Oslo, and ports in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Denmark. Moreover, Holland America Line is introducing four new ports: Aberdeen, Scotland; Kalundborg, Denmark; and Odda, Norway aboard Rotterdam; and Portsmouth, England aboard Nieuw Statendam.
“We’re excited to see both Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam returning to homeport in our historic home. Guests can experience over 80 ports across 20 countries, as far west as the Canary Islands in Spain, and as far east as Finland and the Baltic States.”
– Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer
