You know what the worst thing you could do when trying to go on a diet? Get invited to Meatopia where you eat and drink like a King. From Nov 2-3, 32 of the top BBQ chefs around the US were present to cook for upwards of 3,000 hungry Texans. And we all know how Texas loves their BBQ.

Adam Perry Lang and George Dickel Whisky had in my opinion the best presence at the event. I’m talking picnic tables, a Dickel bar with five signature cocktails, and of course Adam on the grill. I genuinely felt sorry for the neighbors of The Pearl brewery where this was all going down. The smell was so intoxicating that I wouldn’t be surprised if bellies were rumbling a few miles away. Talk about a smoke show.

From the photo gallery above you’ll see just some of the great food at our disposal. Every tent had some chef and their team cooking delicious treats for everyone. The problem was knowing when to stop. What blew me away was the amount they were putting out. Each “sample” was a hefty portion, not something you’re use to seeing at your local grocery store.
