The Arctic, Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, and Greenland are about to get a whole lot more exciting for intrepid luxury travelers and avid cruisers! Atlas Ocean Voyages has just announced that their new expedition yacht, World Traveller, will be making its way to this breathtaking region in the summer of 2023.
This state-of-the-art vessel, which debuted in November 2022, is Polar Category C- and Ice Class 1B-certified, meaning it’s more than ready to take on the Arctic’s icy terrain. But don’t worry, it’s not all about roughing it in the great outdoors – World Traveller also boasts gourmet cuisine, luxurious staterooms and suites, and gracious service. Prices start from $7,999, and to sweeten the deal, the second guest sails free!
Get ready for an unforgettable journey that will take you up close to the Arctic‘s most incredible wildlife and ice formations via specially designed Zodiac boats. With up to two daily outings planned, your trip will be packed with adventure and discovery. The precise landing sites are determined by the Expedition Leader in consultation with the ship’s captain, based on weather and wildlife sightings.
There are several expedition options available to suit every traveler’s preference. A 13- and 11-night expedition, sailing round-trip from Longyearbyen, the world’s northernmost port, will take place on Aug. 6 and Aug. 19 respectively. The 8-night expedition, on Aug. 11, operates from Tromso, Norway, to the Svalbard archipelago. For those wanting to visit Iceland, a 10-night expedition on Aug. 30 will take you from Spitsbergen to the land of fire and ice. World Traveller will then offer a 9-night Iceland circumnavigation, round-trip from Reykjavik on Sept. 9, before heading south on an 8-night expedition to Edinburgh, Scotland, via the British Isles on Sept. 18.
But the fun doesn’t stop there – the expedition team aboard World Traveller is composed of naturalists, biologists, ornithologists, and scientists from other disciplines, so you’re sure to get a highly personalized learning experience. With one field guide for every 20 people, you’ll be able to ask all the questions you want and dive deeper into the region’s unique history and ecosystems. Plus, rubber boots, binoculars, and walking sticks are provided for guests’ use during the expedition.
“Our Arctic itineraries have been carefully planned so guests can immerse themselves in the destination. As this is the first season for World Traveller, explorers have the opportunity to experience this remote region in comfort and at very appealing introductory fares.”
— James Rodriguez, Atlas Ocean Voyages’ president and CEO
And if you’re worried about crowds, fear not – Atlas’ stylish and intimate expedition yachts World Traveller and World Navigator carry fewer than 200 guests, ensuring that you have plenty of space to relax and explore.
