Holland America Line‘s McKinley Chalet Resort, located at the entrance of Denali National Park, has announced exciting updates for guests enjoying Alaska Cruisetours this summer. The resort’s food and beverage team has unveiled revamped menus for its two on-site restaurants, and the resort has achieved Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, ensuring that guests are served fresh, locally sourced, sustainable seafood. This milestone underscores Holland America Line’s commitment to sustainability and providing top-quality culinary experiences.
An Unforgettable Alaskan Experience at McKinley Chalet Resort
Nestled on the scenic shores of the Nenana River, McKinley Chalet Resort offers a unique blend of adventure and relaxation just moments away from Denali National Park. The resort spans 60 acres, with Denali Square at its heart. Denali Square is a vibrant hub featuring restaurants, outdoor fire pits, and live entertainment designed to enhance the Alaskan experience for visitors. This picturesque locale is perfect for soaking in the majestic views and immersing oneself in the beauty of Alaska.
Sustainable Seafood Certification
In June 2024, McKinley Chalet Resort proudly received Marine Stewardship Council certification, a significant achievement that highlights the resort’s dedication to sustainability. This certification is one of the most credible standards for certified seafood globally, ensuring that the seafood served at the resort is sourced responsibly. Holland America Line had already set a precedent by becoming the first global cruise line to receive this certification earlier in the year, and the resort’s accreditation further advances the company’s Global Fresh Fish Program.
Michael Stendebach, Vice President of Food, Beverage, and Rooms Division for Holland America Line, expressed pride in extending the promise of fresh, sustainable fish beyond their ships. He praised the culinary team at McKinley Chalet Resort for their efforts in furthering the industry-leading program and creating inspiring fresh seafood dishes for guests.
