Marriott just opened the first all-inclusive to ever carry the JW name, and they picked a strong debut. The JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort & Spa sits in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, a total reimagining of the former Dreams Las Mareas property with 415 rooms.
The numbers are big: a 44,000-square-foot poolscape Marriott calls the largest resort poolscape in Costa Rica, a 9,000-square-foot spa with the brand’s first Mindfulness House, and 15 restaurants and bars covering Japanese, seafood, Italian, and Costa Rican cooking. There’s a culinary school if you want to learn the local dishes, plus a Griffin Club hotel-within-a-hotel with butler service for the privacy crowd.

Rates run from $656 a night for two through the end of the year, or 110,000 Bonvoy points a night. For a brand-new JW all-inclusive, that’s a fair entry point.
