Every wonder how Ireland celebrates St. Patrick’s Day?
On St. Patrick’s Day, I, like most of my fellow Whiskey drinking lovers, find any excuse to celebrate the Irish holiday. I’m even a quarter Irish, so naturally I indulge in a bit more Jameson than usual. This year I was invited out to Ireland with my friends at Jameson Whiskey to take-in the sights of the Emerald Isle, as well as experience a true St. Patrick’s Day.
We started our day off by enjoying the continental breakfast in our Dublin hotel (The Marker Hotel). This of course included a nice Irish coffee to kickstart the festivities. If that sounds delicious, because it was, I included my favorite Irish Coffee recipe using Jameson at the end of the article.

After breakfast, we headed over to the Old Jameson Distillery located on Bow St, where we would spend our afternoon. Jameson had all-sorts of great things planned for us and the fellow St. Patrick’s Day patrons. Everything from a dopp kit making station, barbers for a fresh shave, live music, and so much more!
First-up, a cocktail. A few of us went with a traditional Jameson, Ginger and Lime, while others warmed up with a Hot Jameson Whiskey. Both equally great choices to get you in the Irish spirit.
After a few killer cocktails and roaming around the Old Jameson Distillery, our group headed across the street to Jo’ Burger to refuel before our next adventure.
If you eat meat, I highly recommend their lamb burger. Delicious!
Shamefully I must admit to not brining any green with me to Ireland. What a disgrace! Luckily for me they were creating these really cool green Jameson sweatshirts on the spot.
A few of our group decided to walk back to our hotel from Bow St. to take in the sites. I couldn’t resist strolling through Trinity University and the crowded streets filled with locals celebrating their patron saint.
Our journey ended with a delicious dinner at The Anglers Rest. It was the perfect venue for our entire group to get together one last time and cheers to an amazing 5 days in Ireland. From Cork to Dublin, this was an adventure I won’t soon forget. A huge thanks to Jameson for showing me how the Irish do St. Patrick’s Day.
