Carnival Cruise Line has updated its drink perk for loyal guests, providing greater clarity and convenience. The benefit, now called the “Welcome Aboard – Welcome Home” beverage, eliminates previous restrictions on where and when it could be redeemed. This complimentary drink is available for Gold, Platinum, and Diamond level guests, automatically processed for the first drink ordered onboard. It’s redeemable on embarkation day, even in ports with alcohol restrictions. Non-alcoholic options are also included. This perk kicks off on all sailings from July 20, 2024.
A Toast to Simplicity
The updated perk replaces the previously named “appreciation drink” for Gold members and “complimentary beverage” for Platinum and Diamond members, reflecting a more streamlined and guest-friendly approach. According to Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, John Heald, bartenders will recognize eligible guests via their Sail and Sign cards, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.
Flexibility and Fun
Guests can enjoy their complimentary drink at any onboard venue, including Java Blue for specialty coffees or milkshakes. The perk applies to all ships in Carnival’s fleet, but Gold members must sail on itineraries of at least five nights to qualify.

Carnival’s loyalty program is undergoing several changes, hinting at further enhancements on the horizon. Recently, the line has made tweaks such as removing the casino free play benefit and ending the St. Jude’s donation for Diamond tier members.
