Holland America Line has always been a personal favorite of mine, and I’m thrilled about the latest enhancements to the Zaandam, which just completed a two-week dry dock in the Bahamas. With the Zaandam now sailing its 27-day ‘Amazon Explorer’ Legendary Voyage, guests onboard will be the first to enjoy a variety of newly refreshed spaces designed to enhance comfort, relaxation, and entertainment.
Upgraded Greenhouse Spa & Salon – The Ultimate Relaxation Retreat
One of the most exciting updates is the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, which has been completely revitalized. A brand-new infrared sauna, Caldarium steam room, and experiential rain shower offer an upgraded wellness experience for guests looking to unwind. The spa’s relaxation lounge has also been enhanced with a new beverage counter and upgraded seating. For those who enjoy a bit of pampering, the salon now boasts custom manicure stations, high-end pedicure thrones, and modern shampoo wash basins. The best part? These spaces are now more accessible for guests with disabilities, ensuring everyone can indulge in some well-earned relaxation.
Expanded Library and Multi-Use Activity Spaces
For those who love to curl up with a good book while at sea, Zaandam’s library has been completely refurbished with a sleek, modern design and a refreshed book collection. Beyond that, the Explorations Café has been transformed into a multi-use space with new puzzle and game tables, creating the perfect environment for guests to enjoy a quiet moment or some friendly competition. The addition of an Art Studio is another fantastic touch, providing a dedicated space for creative activities such as watercolor painting, origami, crochet, and more.
Enhanced Photo Studio & Gallery – Capture Every Memory
Another major improvement is the Photo Studio and Photo Gallery. With a brand-new Signature Studio, guests can now book private photo sessions and personalized photo viewings. The gallery itself has been upgraded with modern displays and a high-tech facial recognition system, making it easier than ever to access and purchase cruise memories digitally.
Neptune Lounge Refresh for Suite Guests
Guests staying in Neptune and Pinnacle suites will also enjoy a more refined Neptune Lounge experience. The space now features new flooring, upgraded seating, an improved concierge desk, and a larger television for a more comfortable and luxurious atmosphere.
A New Era for Zaandam Cruisers
With these enhancements, Zaandam is more than ready to welcome guests on its incredible voyages through the Amazon, Panama Canal, Mexico, and Alaska in the coming months. As a longtime fan of Holland America Line, I’m especially eager to explore these updates in person and share my experience with all of you.
