Looking to the past for inspiration, adidas Originals proudly unveiled their all-new Deerupt lifestyle sneaker this past Saturday (March 17) in Los Angeles.
The sensory-driven event transported attendees back to the 1980s to experience the German brand’s storied history in footwear innovation; before throttling guests into the future via an impressive display of lasers and holograms.
Once in the future attendees were treated to a dramatic grid-centric performance, before ultimately having the opportunity to view the shoe of the hour.
The Deerupt channels key design elements found in urban architecture and archived running silhouettes from the ‘80s. A distinct net like webbing, once a key feature on adidas’ New York runner and Marathon Trainer, is stretched to envelope the entire sneaker. Interior molded foam pockets, an ultra-lightweight sole and knit upper round out the shoe’s distinct build.
The Deerupt drops worldwide on March 22nd with a retail price of $100 USD.
