Dang, Terra Kaffe, you had me at: “Great espresso doesn’t grow in pods.” There are no truer words when it comes to making great coffee.

Brooklyn-based Terra Kaffe is changing up how we make coffee at home with their debut machine, the TK-01. Designed by the brand’s founder and CEO Sahand Dilmaghani, and brought to life with the help of his friends in various industries, the TK-01 has the ability to grind beans, tamping, crafting, and even cleans itself up after use.

The TK-01 costs $775, making it hundreds more than the average Keurig, Nespresso, or any other pod-based coffee machine. On the other hand, at that price point, it’s quite a bit less than the high-end manual espresso machine you might see on the market. You might say it falls in between the two.

Did you know? 17 billion pounds of plastic are dumped into our oceans each year.

My wife and I are actively trying to become a fully sustainable household by getting rid of single-use products, composting, and more. This is why I’m loving TK-01. Not only do they not use pods, Terra Kaffe makes it their mission to connect their customers (YOU!) with the coffee lovers who grow it.

If you’re ready to make the leap and change up your coffee making habits, I recommend starting off by checking out their ‘Waste Calculator’, found in the middle of their product page. There you will discover just how much money you can save as well as the waste you will no longer produce. Pretty solid, right?
