Tech fans, brace yourselves—UK-based vehicle innovator Bo just threw down the gauntlet at Bonneville Speed Week with The Turbo, a high-performance electric scooter designed to shatter expectations and records. Built by a team of elite engineers from Williams Formula One Advanced Engineering, The Turbo isn’t just fast for a scooter. It’s aiming to become the fastest e-scooter in the world, with a projected top speed of over 100mph and acceleration that could beat a Tesla Model 3 off the line.

A Power-to-Weight Ratio That’s Pure Madness

Let’s talk numbers. The Turbo packs a jaw-dropping 24,000W dual-motor propulsion system and tips the scale with a higher power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron. That’s not marketing hype—that’s a data-backed engineering flex.

With a battery capacity of 1800Wh, The Turbo delivers up to 150 miles of range on a single charge. At full tilt, it’s capable of delivering enough energy to fast-charge 1,500 iPhones simultaneously. Yes, you read that right.

The Tech Behind The Turbo

This monster is built on Bo’s signature Monocurve chassis—the same platform used for its road-legal sibling, the Bo Model-M. Reinforced with aerospace-grade aluminum and CNC-machined components, the chassis can handle peak loads of 650kg (that’s about three Harley Davidsons stacked).

Cooling matters at triple-digit speeds, and Bo’s engineers knew it. They drew inspiration from Formula One brake duct design, developing ram-air intakes that force air over the battery and motor controller units to keep the system cool during high-speed runs.

From Track Dreams to Street Reality

The Turbo on track

After 18 months of development and testing, The Turbo already hit 85mph during early shakedown tests at Goodwood Motor Circuit in the UK, piloted by pro rider Tre Whyte. What surprised the team most wasn’t just the top-end—it was the acceleration. Even with its motors tuned for speed, not torque, The Turbo showed signs of outpacing a Tesla in a drag race.

And while The Turbo is built for glory, its DNA is shared with the newly US-launched Bo Model-M, a high-performance commuter e-scooter incorporating much of the same elite engineering. The difference? You can actually buy and ride one on public roads starting August 2025.

Limited Builds, Big Impact

Bo is producing The Turbo as a limited-run commission with a starting price of $29,500. The first delivery is already claimed by a collector in Madrid, set to debut at the 2026 Madrid Formula One Grand Prix. Buyers interested in joining this exclusive club will need to apply through Bo’s official site with their riding credentials.

Why It Matters

Bo isn’t just building scooters—it’s redefining what’s possible in personal electric transport. CEO Oscar Morgan put it best: “Racing improves the breed.” And The Turbo is their bold statement that scooters deserve a seat at the high-performance table.

Whether you’re a tech junkie, motorsports enthusiast, or someone who just loves seeing boundaries pushed, this scooter might be the wildest thing on two wheels.
