Morgan’s new Supersport 400 is the most powerful production car the British marque has built in its 117 years, and the spec sheet finally matches the silhouette. Under the long hood sits BMW’s 3.0-liter turbocharged B58 inline-six, tuned to 402 horsepower and routed through an 8-speed automatic. Morgan claims 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 180 mph top end, numbers that would have sounded absurd attached to a Morgan badge a decade ago. The Dynamic Handling Pack comes standard, with a 24-click nitrogen-dampened suspension and a chassis tuned to make all that power usable rather than terrifying. Nineteen-inch forged Sportlite wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 rubber finish the package. Morgan has opened the order books through its global dealer network.
