For many, January 1st marks the day they start their New Year’s resolutions. Whatever those may be, only about 8% will keep them. This year I plan on being in the latter group.

Below are a few of the ways I plan to stay on track to have a killer 2016.

Fitbit Flex

Get Fit, and Stay Fit

In my opinion, one of the hardest resolutions to stick to is staying in shape. I am constantly making excuses for why I can’t go to the gym. What I’ve decided to do differently in 2016 is start tracking my workouts using a Fitbit Flex. It’s designed to keep you moving, and as much as it might sound silly, having a device remind me I’m being lazy might be the solution I need. In addition to it tracking your movement, the Fitibit Flex will also track your sleep activity and help you understand your sleeping habits. Because who couldn’t use a proper night’s sleep?

All-Clad Stainless Steel Pans

Cook More

One of the things I’ve always liked doing, but haven’t embraced was cooking for myself. My girlfriend and I are actually really good cooks, when we actually decide to cook. This year I’m going to throw out all of my old pans and start fresh. An excuse I’ve used to avoid cooking was complaining about the pots and pans I had. I’m due for a new set so I went out and bought new Stainless Steel All-Clad pans. Cooking for yourself goes hand-in-hand with staying fit too. When you know what’s actually going into a meal, chances are it will be far healthier than going to a restaurant, not to mention a whole lot cheaper.

Stack of Board Games

Spending More Time with Friends

I travel for a living, so when I come home from a trip there is very little I want to do apart from relax on my couch with my girlfriend. This isn’t to say I don’t miss my friends and cherish the time I have with them. To help motivate me to see my friends I’ve been away from I decided to host game nights. There is nothing better than inviting a group of friends over to play some board games. A few of my go-to favorites are Jenga, Risk, Settlers of Catan, and Heads Up.
