The 2022 Lexus LC500 Convertible is an absolute dream car and I couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel to test drive it. I had the opportunity to review its non-convertible predecessor a few years back and was not disappointed. It was hard to give up after my week loan was up, which is why I was so excited to find out I would be reviewing the new 2022 model.

Let’s jump right into the 5 things I love about the 2022 Lexus LC500 Convertible.

1. The Lexus LC500 is a Head Turner

No matter what angle you look at the Lexus LC500 Convertible from, it’s a looker. I lost count of how many times I had someone pull up alongside me to get a photo or ask me questions about it.

When I first reviewed the non-convertible LC500 from 2020, I was living in Los Angeles. The city with more Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and other luxury cars than you could possibly imagine. Even with a never-ending list of competitive luxury vehicles, the LC500 was constantly turning heads. You just don’t see too many LC500s in the wild, which is a major shame.

Fast forward to today, I’m now living in a small town in the midwest called Edwardsville. You don’t see many luxury cars here like in LA, apart from the occasional Aston Martin or Porsche. I’m sure you can imagine the attention the 2022 Lexus LC500 Convertible received in stunning Radiant Red.

2. 0-60 in 4.4 Seconds

I don’t need to go 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, but happy when a car has the power to do so.

The standard LC500 is powered by Lexus‘ high-performance 5.0-liter V-8 engine, which produces 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. It produces stellar internal combustion that is as pleasing to the ears as the rest of the LC is to the eyes when paired only with a quick-shifting yet smooth 10-speed automatic transmission. The LC500h’s 354-hp gas-electric drivetrain combines a 3.5-liter V-6, a pair of electric motors, a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery, and a unique continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that mimics the action of a 10-speed automatic transmission.

3. Mark Levinson Stereo System

Mark Levinson‘s long-standing relationship with Lexus stems from their shared love of workmanship, excellent quality, and attention to detail. Both manufacturers work tirelessly to attain perfect quality, all so you may enjoy incomparable luxury behind the wheel. From the start of the development process, Mark Levinson audio specialists collaborate with Lexus engineers and designers. Starting with the clay models, they customize each sound system to fit perfectly with the vehicle’s distinctive interior. Then they devote many hours to ensuring the best audio performance possible, so you may experience flawless sound that immerses you during every journey.

4. Toasted Caramel Interior

The Lexus LC500 Convertible comes in three interior color options, but the gorgeous toasted caramel interior is by far my favorite. You have the choice of my preferred color or black leather with satin metallic trim or circuit red leather with satin metallic trim. I’ll let the photos below do the talking.

5. Driver-Inspired Cockpit

The low center of gravity of the LC is perfectly aligned with the driver’s hip position. Bolstered high-back sport seats are the product of two years of development and 50 prototypes in order to obtain the perfect driving posture. Because of this, you’ll feel more connected to the road than ever before, giving off a driver-inspired cockpit feel.
