Mercedes-AMG built only 30 examples of the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung, and every one sold before the car was even shown publicly. It starts life as a CLE 53, but AMG strips out the standard 4MATIC+ system entirely and sends all 646 hp from the reworked 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to the rear wheels alone, through a nine-speed automatic tuned with launch control for RWD. Carbon fiber body panels, polycarbonate rear glass, and a lighter starter battery cut 375 pounds versus the CLE 53, and a KW coilover suspension plus carbon-ceramic brakes back up the numbers: 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, 310 km/h (193 mph) flat out. It’s hand-built in Affalterbach, part of AMG’s new Mythos series alongside the PureSpeed, and reporting puts the price around $600,000 to $800,000. All 30 already have owners.
