The Games We are Most Excited About Following E3
What started as a dull and boring trade show in the late 1990s has become one of the biggest and best events in the world. E3 is an event where all the biggest video game companies gather together to discuss their next projects, and what games they will be releasing over the next year.
Unfortunately, E3 was unable to take place in 2020 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. However, thankfully it returned in 2021. At the start of June 2021, some of the biggest video game companies in the world got together virtually to talk about some of their upcoming games. Here are some of the games from this event that we are most excited about:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
One of the games that we are most excited about after E3 is Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. While the trailer for this game did not give a lot of information away, it sent the internet into a frenzy with lots of fans excited to find out the fate of their favourite characters.
What we do already know is that this installment will return to Hyrule; however, the game is now filled with floating islands, allowing players to explore vertically. Not only that, but some of the characters, such as Link, have gained some new abilities since the previous version. Given just how good Breath of the Wild was, its sequel has a very good chance of being one of the best games of 2022. One thing is for sure – once this game is released, it is bound to keep you occupied for a good few months.
2. Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite is expected to be one of the best games on the Xbox Series X when it is finally released later this year. This version of Halo is similar to previous releases. However, it has been updated with next-gen graphics, which look amazing. Not only that, but it also supports split-screen, which is great news for households with more than one gamer.
However, this is not the only good piece of news for Halo fans. Another piece of good news for fans of this game is that the multiplayer mode is free to play, even if you do not purchase Game Pass. This could save you a huge amount of money.
3. Mario Golf: Super Rush
We cannot have a list of the games from E3 that we are most excited to play this year without including a Super Mario game. While there are lots of amazing Super Mario titles already out there, none of them can compete with Mario Golf: Super Rush, particularly if you are a golf lover.
In Mario Golf: Super Rush, Mario and co don their flat caps and tweed once more. However, unlike other Mario titles, players get a story mode to play through, which can star their own Mii Character. In the game, players have to complete challenges and earn points to improve their stats.
4. METROID DREAD
When METROID DREAD appeared on screen during the E3 event, many fans’ dreams came true. This is because it is the first brand-new 2D entry in the action-adventure franchise for almost two decades.
Picking up after the 2002 METROID FUSION game, DREAD carries on the series’ legendary legacy with some new moves such as countering enemy attacks and sliding along the floor. From what we could see from the trailer, you need not dread being disappointed with this revival.
Although the E3 event is now over, it brought with it several exciting new games that we cannot wait to try out. In fact, this year, there is no shortage of exciting offerings to get your salivary glands pumping. Which one from our list are you most excited to play?
