Clase Azul just opened a new chapter in its annual Día de Muertos releases. Trascender is the first edition since the Nuestros Recuerdos collection wrapped, and Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco built it from two añejo tequilas aged more than 30 months: one finished in Champagne casks, the other in American whiskey casks. The result is a full-bodied, silky pour with ripe orchard fruit, agave nectar, cacao, toasted walnut, and delicate spice.
As always, the decanter is the other half of the story. This one is limited to 10,000 hand-painted ceramic bottles, each a tribute to Mexican tradition and the enduring power of memory.
At $2,000, it’s firmly in collector territory. But if you’ve been following the annual Día de Muertos tequila releases, this is the one that starts a brand new collection.
