Chef and restaurateur Suzi Sheffield created Mexican Chocolate Sugar ($18), a unique blend that will spice up whatever you add it to. The ingredients consist of organic Brazilian cane sugar, orange cacao, chili, cinnamon, and allspice. Each tin comes with a wooden scoop inside to scoop out helpings of the hand-blended goodness. Many of the ingredients were gathered just blocks from Sheffield’s house. Try adding her Mexican Chocolate Sugar to your coffee, sprinkled over your vanilla ice cream, or in your pancake batter.
