Carnival at Great American Beer Festival 2019
Carnival Cruise Line team at the Great American Beer Festival

This month, Carnival Cruise Line became the first cruise operator to exhibit at the annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver. As the cruise line touting the only shipboard brewery in North America, this should come at no surprise they were there and ready to show off their brews. Along with showcasing the cruise-goer’s favorites, such as the ParchedPig West Coast IPA, ParchedPig Toasted Amber, and ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat, Carnival debuted their newest fleetwide season beer, ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale.

More than 60,000 attendees at the festival had a chance to be one of the first to try the new seasonal beer, as well as discover what else Carnival has to offer onboard their fleet. In addition to this debut, Carnival also announced a brand new beer, ParchedPig Beach Lager, which will debut at Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse aboard the new Carnival Panorama when it enters service in December from Long Beach, CA.

“Showcasing a selection of our beers among some of the top breweries in the country and introducing our product to the thousands of beer enthusiasts at The Great American Beer Festival is a true highlight for our team. We’re constantly evolving our beverage choices, including the quality and variety of our beers, and this was the perfect opportunity to debut the new ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale and announce ParchedPig Beach Lager as we continue to provide our guests with even more exciting choices on board.”

– Edward Allen, vice president of beverage operations for Carnival Cruise Line

ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale Tasting Notes

ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale Carnival Cruise Line
ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale

The limited-time ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale is a full-bodied beer with hints of spice and notes of nutmeg, clove, caramel, brown sugar, and cinnamon. A great flavor profile for cruising in the fall season. It will be available in 22-ounce “bombers” and on draft in bars and lounges across the fleet, as well as at breweries aboard Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon.

Hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to try the new brew before it goes away because it sounds amazing. If you happen to find yourself on a Carnival cruise be sure to try all of their beers.
